One India Association (OIA), affiliated to ICC under the aegis of Indian Embassy (Qatar) had organised a one-dish (Family get together) party at MIA Park, to welcome the new members and with the motive of bringing the community on one platform.
Shaji Francis, convener, welcomed the new members. Dilip Kutty, the general secretary, introduced the new members Shahabuddin Khan, Kashif Habeeb, Mohd Ajmal, Ali Imran, Sandeep Kshirsagar, Vaquas Siddiqi, Danish Hussain, Danish Anwar, Adil Khan, Pritpal Singh, Ansar AR, Bhanu Dhawan, Khalid Hussain, Zeyaul Haq, Rashid Muimin, Liju Paulson, Sunil Kumar, Nishab Kombath, Asif Khan, Jawed Ahmad, Mohd Faisal, Sayeed Khan, Rakesh Aggarwal and Hamza Abid.
Hamid Zafar welcomed all the new members and gave general guidelines about the regulations in Qatar and the functioning of OIA. Ziauddin Ahmad thanked Hesham Farouk Sayed, CEO of Approval Contracting Co. for sponsoring the event.
Sports for children, women and men were the highlight of the event.
Prizes were distributed to all children and winners of games in different categories. The winners included Haleema Khan, Saif, Saad Ahmad, Zainab Khan, Firdous Shahab, Marifa Beg, Samia Khan, Awaab Khan, Sara Shadma, Karaven, Victor, Abeer, Komal, Saba, Shaan, Maliver, Devij, Danish Hussain, Kashif Habeeb and Hashim Khan.
Khalid Hussain's team won the Tug of War.
More than 100 people, including women and children attended the event. One India Association was established in 2014 and operates as a non-political, non-profitable and secular organisation working for the educational, social, literacy and cultural needs of the community.
