LEZIMA GOMES
DOHA
If you are looking for the perfect brunch on a lazy Friday afternoon, which is also pocket-friendly, then look no further than the Urban Brunch at the Doha Marriott Hotel.
The Urban Brunch is massive and is hosted at the Corniche of the Doha Marriott. It is innovative and a really wonderful concept as you can sit at any of the restaurants along the Corniche during the brunch and pick any cuisine of your choice, or if you are more adventurous, you can go ahead and try them all. There is plush outdoor seating available with a resident DJ playing some chick and upbeat music to get you into the mood, with wonderful views of the Arabian Sea, as well as the pool.
The Urban Brunch offers the perfect hangout for a get-together with friends or family in a relaxed atmosphere.
The best thing about this brunch is that it has a variety of food on offer as all the restaurants present their speciality dishes that go into combining one big brunch. The Marriott's Corniche is packed with different live-cooking stations, from sushi and dumplings being freshly made to juices being made on the spot for you.
This brunch has something for everyone. On offer are biryanis and spicy curries and street food like pav-bhaji, while there is an array of different sashimis, dim sums, Arabian cuisine, an array of seafood, selection of meats, a beautiful selection of cheese, and a dessert section that is really massive.
I particularly enjoyed the sushi, especially the Califonia rolls that were so well crafted by the chef; I also enjoyed the dumpling section and the seafood that had a large selection of mussels, prawns and crabs amongst other seafood. If you are a late breakfast person and enjoy eggs, there is a section that is especially dedicated to different styles of eggs from scrambled to Benedict and many more options.
The friendly staff, serving you during the brunch makes the experience better, while the chefs too are very friendly and often drop by to chat with guests. There is also a little section dedicated to children who are also kept entertained by cartoon mascots as well as face-painters.
The brunch runs from 12.30 pm to 4 pm giving you ample time to try out the various dishes on offer. So go ahead and take a huge appetite to this brunch. What is more, you can also use the Entertainer voucher to get a buy-one, get-one free offer. Packages cost QR220 per head and QR320 per head.
