THE State of Qatar participated in a meeting held by the Arab Peace Initiative Committee at the headquarters of Arab League on Thursday.
The meeting, in which foreign ministers of the Committee member countries took part, was held to discuss the developments in Al Quds in light of the US' recognition of the city as a capital of the Israeli occupation.
Qatar also participated in an Arab League meeting at the level of foreign ministers. The meeting aimed to continue discussions on the Arab plan to deal with the negative implications of the decision of the US to recognise Al Quds as a capital of Israeli occupation. The meeting also took place at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo.
The Qatari delegation was chaired by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad al Muraikhi.
The Arab League held a meeting on December 9 to examine ways to respond to the US decision, including an extraordinary summit held in Jordan as the chair of the current session.
Meanwhile, Muraikhi met with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Commissioner-General Pierre Krahenbuhl, on the sidelines of the resumed meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Arab League at the level of Arab foreign ministers.
