THE Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), in cooperation with the Portuguese Embassy in Qatar, organised an exhibition titled 'Transitory Art' by curator Francisco Lacerda.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of the Human Resources Manager of Katara Saif al Dosary, the diplomatic representative of the Embassy of Portugal Pedro Layma, the envoys of Algeria, Italy, Austria, Thailand and Cyprus, as well as art enthusiasts and media personnel.
Speaking on the occasion, Pedro Layma said that the exhibition offers a wide variety of artworks by artists from different countries carrying messages of cultural dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
The curator Francisco Lacerda said:"The exhibition features 30 paintings created by 15 artists from Portugal, Russia, Japan, Argentine, United Kingdom and Germany over the period of a year. The paintings represent diverse artistic perspectives and techniques."
Lacerda added,"I've chosen the Cultural Village to display these artworks because Katara is a cultural edifice that showcases diverse cultures and fine arts."
The artist pointed out that he has presented a series of exhibitions in Portugal, Britain and Spain and is currently planning to host exhibitions in France, China and the United States of America.
The exhibition being held at Building 22 of the Cultural Village will conclude on January 22.
