The transport section of MES Indian School recently conducted an awareness training-cum-orientation programme for its staff on the school premises. MES Transport Officer Abdul Kalam conducted the orientation programme as per the suggestions of the ISO external auditing carried out at the school.
About 180 transport staff participated in the day-long orientation programme. Various topics of importance, such as methods of low speed driving, discretionary use of fog lights, tactful manoeuvring between tracks during fog, importance of restoring confidence among passengers, especially school children, were covered extensively during the training session.
Inaugurating the orientation programme, officiating school principal Hameeda Kadar stressed on the importance of punctuality in ensuring the buses reach the school on time, prioritising the safety of children on board and desisting from using mobile phones while driving.
Various methods and tips on tackling different situations proved to be useful and handy.
