AS part of its admissions campaign, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation, is hosting a series of information sessions from January to March to give prospective students an opportunity to learn about its innovative graduate programs.
The information sessions will provide in-depth insight into the graduate programs with a focus on curriculum, unique research opportunities and admission requirements. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet faculty members and current students to hear about the benefits of being enrolled at HBKU.
The information sessions aim to provide prospective students with an overview they can use as a basis for making informed decisions about their education. Dr Khaled B. Letaief, HBKU provost, said:"We invite the community to come and see how HBKU is developing unique academic programs and is producing high-quality research through the work of its faculty and students to make a difference in Qatar and across the globe. Students who are interested in innovative thinking, critical reasoning and using their education to make an impact should come and learn about how they will be able to do this as graduate students at HBKU."
HBKU consists of both mission-oriented academic colleges and research institutes. Over 600 students from nearly 60 countries are currently enrolled in 17 graduate programs at HBKU. Furthermore, scientists and researchers at HBKU's three research institutes Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute, Qatar Computing Research Institute and Qatar Biomedical Research Institute have spearheaded research that has held significant relevance for the local and global innovation landscape.
The upcoming series of information sessions will begin on January 16 at the College of Islamic Studies Building in Education City. The college's staff and faculty will introduce the Master of Arts in Islamic Studies and Master of Science in Islamic Finance to prospective students and remain available to respond in detail to queries.
Next, the College of Science and Engineering will host its first graduate studies information session on January 22 at the Education City Student Center, where representatives will provide attendees with insight into the college, its programmes and its activities on campus. The college offers MS degree programmes in data science and engineering; sustainable energy; sustainable environment; genomics and precision medicine; biological and biomedical sciences; and cybersecurity. Additionally, it offers PhD programmes in computer science and engineering; sustainable environment; sustainable energy; genomics and precision medicine; and biological and biomedical sciences.
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences' information session will take place at the Liberal Arts and Sciences Building in Education City on January 24. During the session, institutional representatives will shed light on its programmes, including its MA programmes in digital humanities and societies; women, society and development; translation studies; and audiovisual translation.
Finally, on January 31, representatives of the College of Law and Public Policy will be welcoming interested visitors to an information session, where they will share further details on the region's first Juris Doctor degree, which has been created in partnership with the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
