Qatar will have a new 67-bed specialised medical care facility by the end of 2019.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding this was signed between Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and its partner Sports and Social Activities Support Fund (Daam) on Wednesday. Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohamed al Kuwari and Chairman of the board of directors of the sports and social activities support fun (Daam) HE Sheikh Abdulla bin Saoud al Thani singed the deal.
The new facility ” Daam Specialised Care Centre ” will be located inside the Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City and will cater to patients discharged from hospitals but requireing long-term specialised medical rehabilitation.
The centre with an expected cost outlay of QR100 million will be fully funded by Daam.
The new facility will largely increase the existing capacity of HMC's Enaya Specialized Care Centers by providing more beds and thereby accommodating more patients as well.
"The aim of these facilities is to create a comforting, home-like environment in the community. A space that provides best quality patient-centred medical care while supporting patients in regaining or maintaining optimal levels of functioning," Kuwari said.
