SPECTACULAR aerobatic displays, a parade by the equestrian team and a mock drill by sniffer dogs were the highlights of Qatar National Day celebrations by the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) at Aspire Park on Saturday.
In a rare display of gravity-defying stunts, six of the Lekhwiya brave hearts presented a stunning midair paragliding show much to the delight of the spectators gathered at the venue.
Lekhwiya pilots exhibited great control as they hovered around the Aspire Park before landing in the designated area inside the park safely one after another, where they were greeted by a thunderous applause from the audience.
Talking to Qatar Tribune one of the members of the team said,"We are honoured to present this adventurous show also known as 'para motor."
Al-Anoud al Mesnad, a member of the QND organising committee at Aspire said,"We have organised a series of events as part of Qatar National Day celebrations to attract families and children. We are also going to hold a movie night on Monday in collaboration with Doha Film Institute (DFI)."
Meanwhile, the visitors to the Aspire Park were also treated to a horse riding show by Lekhwiya riders. Furthermore, Lekhwiya's dog squad demonstrated its skills to help the force in detecting crimes during the event. They showed their natural traits of loyalty and courage as well as the skills of handling a difficult situation. Children liked the show.
