QATAR University (QU) on Monday organised a special National Day ceremony, under the theme 'Promise of Prosperity and Glory',aimed to enhance patriotism of the students and their loyalty to the country.
The event featured a performance centred on love for the country and screening of a film and a video specially made for the occasion. A rendition of the national anthem was followed by chat sessions, a seminar, an operetta and Ardha performance.
QU President Dr Hassan bin Rashid al Derham said the National Day is a precious occasion for everyone as it is the day when the nation remembers its glory and the beginning of its rise.
Meanwhile, Community College of Qatar (CCQ) continued to celebrate the National Day through educational and recreational activities aimed at enhancing the national sense and loyalty for young people.
CCQ President Dr Ibrahim al Nuaimi stressed the importance of enhancing research in economic, industrial and agricultural sectors. He praised the positive situation in the Qatari society in terms of achieving self-reliance. (QNA)
