UNDER the patronage of Qatar Central Bank, Qatar Banking and Business Administration Secondary School for Girls organised the first recruitment fair for the academic year 2017-2018 in Doha on Wednesday.
Visitors toured the fair and were introduced to a range of offers and unique services that the participating banking institutions offer to high school seniors and students in general.
Sultan bin Rashed al Khater, member of the administration board of the fund supporting social and sports activities and member of the administration board of Qatar Central Bank opened the fair accompanied by the Undersecretary of Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Faouzia al Khater and Secretary General of the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and science Dr Hamda al Sulaiti along with a number of state officials.
Khater stressed on the importance of organising career development activities that contribute to raising students' awareness on their future career opportunities. She noted that other secondary schools should follow the same path in planning similar events providing academic guidance to high school seniors tailored to their needs and aspirations.
Khater also invited all secondary schools to attend the recruitment fair to explore the most important financial institutions in Qatar and benefit from the opportunities offered by them.
School Principal Dhabia al Buainin said that this year's first recruitment fair aims to introduce the secondary school students to the academic requirements aligning with the demands of the Qatari job market in addition to exposing them to the various careers matching their skills and qualifications.
Student Support Specialist at Qatar University's College of Management and Economics Dima Masud said:"Our presence here today aims to introduce students to the majors available at our college and the possible job opportunities following their graduation."
Along the same lines, Admission Officer at Qatar University Iman Abdulmalik added that the fair visitors would be offered guidelines on the requirements of admission to various colleges in Qatar University.
She noted that the Department of Guidance and Orientation is responsible for preparing students to select the appropriate major by offering them assistance in identifying their career preferences considering the demands of the job market.
