The Ministry of Defense (MoD) is participating for the first time in the Qatar National Day celebrations to be held at Darb Al Saai with a special pavilion titled 'Defense Camp'.
In a statement, Director of the Directorate of Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Defense Lt Col Nawaf bin Mubarak bin Saif al Thani called on the public to visit the pavilion and participate in the various events to be held from December 9 to 20. The events will be held daily from 7am until 12 noon and from 3pm to 10pm on weekdays, and from 2pm to 11pm on Friday.
All Qatari armed forces will participate in the activities and events with live military shows, music band performances, hand-to-hand combat, parachuting and several other activities.
The pavilion will also feature old and modern equipment and naval and air military simulators, in addition to armed forces expo where the public will learn about a variety of events organised by the Emiri land forces, joint special forces, relief and rescue forces and other units of the Qatari Armed Forces.
A mini-fortress of the General Command will be built, including a 'corridor through time' for the Qatari armed forces from 1948 to the present, and a display of antiquities and various weapons.
Visitors can experience special joint forces training by taking part in the barrier track and getting off the tower.
The event will include a variety of activities, a photography pavilion and a room for children under five years of age. The Defense Camp is also designed to meet the standards of comfort and safety for people with special needs.
