Qatari riders win bronze in Arab Cycling Championship

DOHA QATARI riders showed resilience and fighting spirit which helped them win a bronze medal in the team event category at the Arab Cycling Championship in Morocco. Moreover they secured second spot in the senior’s category.
Qatari cyclists, who were undergoing intense coaching in Europe under coach Brank Filip finally made a display of their skills in the event in Morocco.
In the senior’s category, Qatari rider Khalil Rahman finished second while the gold and silver positions went to Algeria and Morocco respectively.
The Qatari contingent which is headed by Majid al Naimi, Secretary-General of Qatar Cycling Federation lauded the achievement of the team.
“The competition among all the riders was high. Some of the Asian teams were very strong and difficult to beat. I congratulate the boys on their victory. They have worked very hard during the off season,” said Naimi.
He also added that he hoped that the team would put up a better performance in the next event. "We are all happy with what they have done. However, next time their target should be the top spot,” pointed out Naimi.
