Henley to play in Pam Am badminton
DON Henley Averia, a regular trainee at the Qatar Badminton Academy, will compete in the 2012 Pan American Junior Badminton Championship, to be held in Canada from July 25 to 29. Don qualified to play in the under-11 boys singles category after sweeping the trial event held in Boston, Massachusetts in April 2012. His impressive win-loss record of 7-0 at the trials made him a top favourite for the Pan-Am Championships. Don has been training at the Qatar Badminton Academy since he was 5 years old. Turning nine in February this year, he has already won several tournaments in the under-10 and under-13 singles and doubles categories in Qatar and the UAE. The Qatar Badminton Academy has been imparting.
Smiles and jokes as Phelps wows France before Games
AMERICAN superstar Michael Phelps warmed up for the Olympics on Saturday in France, laughing and cracking jokes with teammates and 2,000 spectators who watched him in training.
