Qatar reiterates commitment to Libya

TRIPOLI THE Heir Apparent His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani on Tuesday reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to support the Libyan people in building their modern state.
On his arrival at the Tripoli International Airport on a oneday official visit to the country, HH the Heir Apparent was welcomed by Libya’s National Transitional Council (NTC) Chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil, Qatar’s Ambassador to Libya HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Jassim al Thani and other dignitaries including ambassadors of other Arab countries in Libya. During the one-day visit to the country, he also met Libya’s interim Prime Minister Abdul Raheem al Keeb and reviewed bilateral cooperation besides discussing the latest developments in that country as well as the situation in the region.
HH the Heir Apparent expressed his pleasure at the visit Libya and conveyed greetings of the Emir His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani and the Qatari people to the NTC chairman and the Libyan people wishing the country further progress and prosperity.
He also congratulated the Libyan people for the legislative elections that took place in an atmosphere of freedom, transparency and integrity, and reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to support the Libyan people in building their modern state and promote the strong bilateral ties between the two countries in various fields.
