| | England beats Australia by 15 runs | EOIN Morgan´s rapid 89 not
out laid the platform for
England´s 15-run win over
arch-rivals Australia in the
first one-day international at
Lord´s here on Friday.
Victory kept alive England´s
hopes of replacing their oldest
foes as the world´s top-ranked
one-day side and topping the
standings in all three formats,
although they need to sweep
this campaign 5-0 to knock
Australia off their 50-over
perch.
England were struggling
when left-hander Morgan, on
his Middlesex home ground,
came in at 121 for three.
But the former Ireland
international, the man-of-thematch,
broke the shackles

four sixes and five fours to
propel England to 272 for five.

The French Open champion´s

last year´s Wimbledon semifinal
clash which the
Russian won in straight sets.
Hsieh became the first

many things, not least talent
and quality but there are also
other vital ingredients that can
often be overlooked, such as
self-belief and an insatiable
will to win.
If there is one thing that has
stood out in Italy´s dazzling
march to the Euro 2012 final it
has been its confidence and
ingrained self-assuredness.
Cesare Prandelli´s team
came into the tournament in
disarray having lost three
straight friendlies since qualifying
for the tournament, the
last being a 3-0 humbling by
Russia.
Added to that was the not
insignificant distraction of a
domestic match-fixing scandal,
which cost Domenico
Criscito his place in the squad
bound for Poland and
Ukraine. The left-back was
