season of the Schools Olympic
Program (SOP), the Organising
Committee met recently
to discuss the launching of
the programme´s sixth year
this September.
The school year 2012-2013
will see the programme
explore the theme ´Sports and
Investment´.
The SOP is held annually
as a collaborative effort of
the Olympic Committee,
Supreme Education Council,

QTEL is looking for volunteers
for an ambitious initiative
to improve living conditions
in underprivileged
households with its new
Refaq programme.
The programme will bring
together Qtel employees and
volunteers to provide invaluable
support for up to 50
households that have been
identified through extensive
field research. It will start in
June and run until the end of
the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The project aims to assess
homes that are in poor condition
and provide major home
improvements. Run-down
houses will be transformed

ABOUT 70 Qatari students
from different universities in
Qatar and abroad attended
the Qatar Petroleum´s (QP)
induction ceremony on Thursday
for its summer internship
programme, scheduled
to begin on Sunday.
All the participating students
are under QP scholarships
and they are pursuing
various courses in their
respective universities. The
internship programme will
end on July 19.
