Star Alliance, SkyTeam |
JET Airways, which has been
in advanced talks to join the
global airlines´ grouping Star
Alliance, is also holding discussions
with the competing
alliance SkyTeam.
"We are in talks both with
Star Alliance and Sky Team.
Let us see what materialises.
That is all I can tell you at
this point of time," Jet
Airways Chairman Naresh
Goyal said.
Jet Airways was earlier in
an advanced stage of joining
Star Alliance along with Air
India, whose induction into
the airlines´ grouping was put
off primarily due to its precarious
financial health.
While Star Alliance includes
Air Canada, Air China, ANA,
Lufthansa and Singapore
Airlines and operates 20,500

minerals loom in
China-Denmark
bilateral ties |
CHINESE President Hu
Jintao´s three-day visit to
Denmark may ostensibly have
been about signing billions

north Atlantic island is also
situated next to sea lanes that
are increasingly important as
the Arctic melts, and
Washington has an air base in
the northwest of the territory.
That may explain why the
leader of the world´s most
populous country decided to

growth pact for Europe | FRENCH President
Francois Hollande has forwarded
proposals for a 120-
billion-euro (151-billion-dollar)
"Pact for Growth in
Europe" to his European
counterparts, France´s Le
Journal du Dimanche newspaper
reported Sunday.
The 11-page document
sent to German Chancellor
Angela Merkel and other EU
leaders ahead of this
month´s EU summit shows
France making concessions
to Germany on the thorny
issue of eurobonds, the
newspaper reported.
Hollande has been pushing
for joint eurozone debt
as a way of easing the borrowing
costs of ailing eurozone
members. Merkel has
ruled out eurobonds in the
near term, saying they
would require a far greater
degree of European integration.
