Qatar, China talk bilateral trade, investment relations

BEIJING QATAR and China held a round of official talks in Beijing, on Monday, during which Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al Thani and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao discussed bilateral relations and the means to promote them in all fields.

They also discussed a number of regional and international issues of joint interest.

He also met Vice-Chairman of the Chinese State Committee for Development and Reform and Chairman of the National Energy Commission Leo Tia Nan and discussed the scope of bilateral cooperation including means of enhancing investments.

The prime minister also had a meeting with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Board of Directors Chairman Jiang Jianqing at the bank’s headquarters and discussed ways of strengthening mutual cooperation and investment. Members of his accompanying delegation and senior ICBC officials attended the meeting.

Qatar Holding and ICBC signed of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the occasion.

He met Chairman of the Chinese Stake Group Chang Ming and reviewed bilateral relations and the means to enhance them. The PM also witnessed signing of an agreement for Qatar Holding to buy a 20 percent share in Stake Capital. The two companies also signed an MoU on real estate development.
