UDC wins 2 Cityscape awards

DOHA UNITED Development Company (UDC), the master developer of the Pearl-Qatar, netted two awards at the second Cityscape Qatar Awards recently.

UDC won ‘Best Mixed Use Project’ for its flagship development the Pearl-Qatar, as well as the ‘Best Residential Project’ award in recognition of the Pearl-Qatar’s position as the best residential and lifestyle destination in Qatar.

The company also received honourable mention for the development of an Island considered by many to be one of the best sustainable developments.

The awards were accepted by Badr al Meer, vice-president, engineering and construction, and Abdulrahim al Ibrahim, director of TCAD, who said following his acceptance speech that the achievements were clearly in recognition of the innovative nature of the Pearl-Qatar.

“Qatar is a truly unique country where enterprise and innovation have been encouraged to flourish. UDC is proud to be able to contribute to the development of this nation and winning awards such as these is a validation that we are on the right path,” Ibrahim said.

Extending over an approximate area of four million square metres, the Pearl- Qatar is one of the largest real estate development projects in the Arabian Gulf.

The Cityscape Awards night highlighted the threeday conference and exhibition for real estate experts in Qatar. The event focused on the country’s vibrant residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality developments.

With more than $100 billion in development already underway in Qatar, the event is backed by industry leaders and will support this continued real estate growth by providing a platform that will highlight high growth investment opportunities, showcase innovative products and underline sustainability in the sector.
