the Qatarisation
Crystal Award in recognition
of its support and active education
initiatives as part of its
Qatarization strategy.
Throughout 2011, RasGas
had engaged in numerous
education-related initiatives
most notably those with
Qatar University, Texas A&M
University-Qatar, Virginia
Commonwealth University-
Qatar and Injaz Qatar.
In addition, RasGas managed
a total of 94 high school
and university students under
a scholarship programme to
assist them in their pursuit
for excellence in education.

KPMG´s energy meet |  ABOUT 1,000 energy industry
professionals from different
parts of the world attended the
10th Annual KPMG´s Global
energy conference in Houston,
Texas, recently.
KPMG Qatar Partner and
the Head of oil and gas for
Middle East and South Asia
Gopal Balasubramaniam represented
the region at the
event.
According to
Balasubramaniam, the conference
was a huge success as
many topical issues affecting
the energy industry were discussed
in 14 sessions by over
50 renowned speakers from
the sector. "The conference
provided participants with new
insights, tools and strategies to
help manage some of the issues
and challenges facing the
industry," he said.

MILITARY TASK FORCE IN LIBYA |
 THE Deputy Emir, Heir Apparent and
Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Qatari
Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Tamim
bin Hamad al Thani attended the honouring
ceremony of the Qatari military task
force in Libya at a military camp in Al
Shahaniya on Thursday.
The ceremony started with the national
anthem of Qatar. His Highness the Deputy
Emir greeted officers and other dignitaries
who took part in the military task force in
Libya. Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed
Forces HE Major-General Hamad bin Ali al
Attiyah welcomed His Highness the Deputy
