wrote an Op-Ed article in
this newspaper objecting to
New York City's plan to
make public the performance
rankings of its teachers. His
central point was that this kind of
public shaming was hardly going to
bring about better teaching.

DEPUTY EMIR HONOURS QATAR’S MILITARY TASK FORCE IN LIBYA

DOHA THE Deputy Emir, Heir Apparent and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani attended the honouring ceremony of the Qatari military task force in Libya at a military camp in Al Shahaniya on Thursday.
The ceremony started with the national anthem of Qatar. His Highness the Deputy Emir greeted officers and other dignitaries who took part in the military task force in Libya. Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces HE Major-General Hamad bin Ali al Attiyah welcomed His Highness the Deputy Emir. The ceremony ended with a presentation of the infantry line parade and the army vehicle parade.
