RasGas wins Crystal Award

DOHA RASGAS was recently presented the Qatarisation Crystal Award in recognition of its support and active education initiatives as part of its Qatarization strategy.

Throughout 2011, RasGas had engaged in numerous education-related initiatives most notably those with Qatar University, Texas A&M University-Qatar, Virginia Commonwealth University- Qatar and Injaz Qatar.

In addition, RasGas managed a total of 94 high school and university students under a scholarship programme to assist them in their pursuit for excellence in education.

The award covered students for local and overseas universities ranging from diploma programmes to bachelors and masters’ degrees.

“RasGas is focused on building a competent and successful Qatari workforce.

This award is testimony to the effectiveness of our strategy and extensive work and cooperation with the education sector. Education is the key to sustainability and RasGas’ liaison with the education sector is pivotal to ensuring the long-term viability of our Qatarization strategy,” said Erhama al Kaabi, employee welfare and development group manager.

“I am particularly proud to be receiving a crystal award on behalf of all of RasGas.

Even as the competition gets tougher, this is the company’s second win since 2009,” he added.

The award was presented to Kaabi, on behalf of the RasGas at the 12th Annual Qatarization Review Meeting of the Energy and Industry Sector. The event was hosted by Minister of Energy and Industry HE Mohammad bin Saleh al Sada at the Ritz Carlton, Doha.
