| Don't Reject Integration |
AMID the ceaseless and cacophonous
debates about how to close
the achievement gap, we've
turned away from one tool that
has been shown to work: school
desegregation. That strategy, ushered in
by the landmark 1954 Supreme... |

| US LEADS IN
INNOVATION |
I'VE spent the last week traveling
to two of America's greatest
innovation hubs and the
trip left me feeling a combination
of exhilaration and dread.
The excitement comes from not
only seeing the stunning amount of
innovation emerging from the
ground up... |

| | Doris Duke´s estate opens to public | TEENAGERS growing
up in this part of
Central New Jersey
used to boast of how
they had jumped the
stone walls into Doris Duke´s
2,740-acre estate. How many
actually made it past her private
police force and how many merely
bragged about doing so are lost
to the haze of memory.
But the legend speaks to the
mystery of Doris Duke, "the richest
girl in the world," who, if the
newspapers of her day were to be
believed, ate her baby porridge
from a 14-carat-gold cup, bathed
in coloured water spouting from
an ancient Italian fountain in her
bedroom and wore bathrobes
made from the wool of a rare
species of dwarf camel.

sweep Billboard awards | BRITISH Grammy-winning
singer Adele won 12
awards from 18 nominations
for her juggernaut
album 21, including top
artist, top female artist and top

during the live show and the
singer was not present.
But LMFAO, the uncle-nephew
duo Redfoo and SkyBlu, showed up
in their trademark outrageous fashion
and picked up two awards, song
of the year for Party Rock Anthem
and the top duo/group, along with
four more honours.
Rappers Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne
and R&B singer Chris Brown took
honours for top new artist, male
artist of the year and R&B artist of
the year, respectively.

made Shahid wise | IN his almost a decadeold
Bollywood career,
Shahid Kapoor has gone
through a lot of personal
and professional ups
and downs. But despite as
many as six back-to-back box
office disappointments
behind him, he is undeterred
because he feels
success can do more harm
than failure. "Success can
be more dangerous than
failure. When you
are successful,
you feel that
you are
d o i n g
everything
right. So,
failure can
teach you a
lot. I just believe
in hardwork,"
Shahid said.
After Vishal
Bharadwaj´s hit film
Kaminey, in which he
featured in a double role
opposite Priyanka Chopra,
Shahid was seen in Dil Bole
Hadippa!, Chance Pe Dance,
Paathshaala, Badmaash
Company. | |
