DOHA BEST Buddies Qatar recently held series of ceremonies to honour members of its clubs.

All Best Buddies Club members received certificates of appreciation for their contributions during 2011- 2012 academic year to enhancing quality of life of people with intellectual challenges.

The members have the right to continue participation in organisation activities for the next year.

One of the organisation’s programmes, the College Program, was held at Qatar University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Community College of Qatar, Calgary University, University of the North- Atlantic, Carnegie Mellon University, North-Western University, Texas A&M University and Georgetown University.

The clubs closing ceremonies featured different activities such as Swimming Day, Movie Day, where students watched ‘Spirit’, students’ visit to Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs, Music Day and Painting Day, among others.

The students with and without intellectual disabilities enjoyed the opportunity to share clubs’ activities together before summer vacation.

In 2013, the College Program will include Stenden University to involve more volunteers to serve the society and to brighten lives of people with intellectual disabilities through one-toone long lasting friendship and numerous activities.
