ACTRESS Shilpa Shetty, who was due to deliver next month, gave birth to a boy on Monday morning, her businessman husband Raj Kundra announced.

“God has blessed us with a beautiful baby boy. Both mother and baby are fine... Both mum and baby are resting. I am thrilled to bits!!!!!!” an ecstatic Kundra tweeted.

“A big thank you to my wife Shilpa Shetty for the best gift ever, Dr Kiran Cohelo and all the staff at the Hinduja Hospital! Thank you for all your love and best wishes,” he further posted.

Shilpa married London-based Raj in 2009. The actress announced her pregnancy in December last year.

The couple was deluged with congratulatory mess a g e s f r o m actors like Bipasha Basu and R Madhavan on Twitter.

Bipasha Basu said, “Shilpa Shetty and Raj, congratulations on the birth of your little baby boy! So happy for you both! Love you all!” Neil Nitin Mukesh tweeted, “I just got news that Shilpa and Raj have welcomed their new born son. Loads of love to them both! And kisses to the baby”. God bless!” R Madhavan also tweeted the good news saying, “Congratulations Raj Kundra... May your baby make you the proudest parents... So happy for you and Shilpa.

Sameera Reddy said, “It’s a boy!! Congratulations Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty! A warm welcome to their little bundle of joy! Hugs!” Farah Khan Ali also joined the list of celebrities in welcoming the baby saying, “Congratulations to Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra on the birth of their new born son. God bless him with health, wealth and happiness.”
