| | SCH raises awareness on health,
environmental effects of projects |
 THE Supreme Council of
Health (SCH) organised a
workshop to create awareness
on the Environmental Health
Effects of projects recently.
The workshop was in line
with Qatar Vision 2030 and
within the framework of
Qatar National Health
Strategy in providing preventive
healthcare through
evaluating the environmental
impacts of projects on
health.
The event was attended by
representatives of the
Ministry of Environment,
Ministry of Municipal
Affairs and Urban Planning,
Qatar University
Environmental Research,
Qatar Institute of Energy
and Environment and Qatar
Petroleum (Ras Laffan
Industrial City).

 THE British Council joined the
Mother & Child exhibition held
at the Qatar Exhibition Centre
recently to introduce the audiences
to its Women
Development Programme,
Springboard.
As part of the exhibition
activities, the British Council
offered a Springboard taster to
give the visitors a sense of the
Springboard experience. The
taster was given by
Springboard certified trainer
Ola Eid who presented indepth
information about the
programme followed by interactive
sessions and exercises.
Women who registered at the
exhibition were given the
opportunity of an exclusive 10

Qatar students celebrated ´International
Nurses Week´ recently
with a series of events.
"We wanted to do something
different and meaningful
with the annual celebration
of nurses. So, we decided
to stage a number of events
with emphasis on giving
something back to the community,"
stated Aisha al
Khaireen, one of the student
organisers.
The first stop was Dhreima,
a care centre for orphaned children.
The students delivered
gifts of toys, games and books
to the children. They were
given a tour of the modern
and well-equipped facilities.
