| | A chicken dish with a difference | | BANISH the dry, boring chicken breast from your dinner table.
Learn the best ways to cook this versatile cut – it can be tender, juicy and full of flavour.
Stir fried chicken with bok choy Serves 4 Total time:: 2200 mmiinnuutteess In restaurants, stir-frying is done in extra-large woks over very high heat. To approximate the effect at home, don't crowd the meat in the pan, and make sure the wok and oil are nice and hot before you add the chicken.
Remember, stir-frying is fast – have all your ingredients prepped before you begin.
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce 1 tablespoon rice vinegar 2 teaspoons light-brown sugar 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound total) 4 teaspoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced 2 teaspoons minced peeled fresh ginger 4 cups sliced bok choy (from 1 head) 1 small red chili or jalapeno, seeded and sliced cooked rice, for serving 1. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar and 3 tablespoons water. Slice chicken into thin strips. In a medium bowl, toss chicken with cornstarch until coated. In a large wok or skillet, heat oil, garlic and ginger over medium-high until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add chicken in a single layer, pressing against pan to sear.
.... | | | Concept You carries on with the Volvo look | | IT is rather odd, never quite free of the perpetual "it looks like a?.?.?." problem.
The earliest Volvos looked like boxes, along with most other cars of the 1920s. The Carioca, introduced in 1935, looked like a Chrysler Airflow; the Philip prototype of 1953 strongly resembled the Darrin-designed '51 Kaiser; and the '50s 122 Amazon was so similar to an Aero Willys that some US car magazines suggested actual American tooling was involved. It wasn't.
The models that popularised Volvo's products outside its native country and the rest of Scandinavia, the PV444 and its PV544 derivative, were no exception.
From most angles they looked like early 1940s Fords with a particularly clumsy front end grafted on, but clever advertising combined with outstanding ruggedness and surprising performance— I remember a couple of them outrunning MGAs on a track near Washington, DC, and Tom Trana winning the RAC rally in a 544 in 1963—helped Volvo climb as high as number three on the import sales charts in the United States before the Japanese invasion overwhelmed European carmakers. After the 544 went out of production, Volvos went back to looking like boxes again, elegant boxes in the case of the 960, but boxes all the same.
.. | | | Rihanna's fitness secret out! | | SINGER Rihanna makes sure she fits in a 25-minute exercise plan, broken down into five segments, in her daily schedule, even if it means training at 2 am.
"Rihanna looks amazing right now. I have put her on a special 25-minute-a-day workout that consists of five mini workouts. She does it five days a week, wherever she is in the world," contactmusic.com quoted her trainer Harley Pasternak as saying.
"One of my trainers travels with her to ensure she does it, but as it only takes 25 minutes and can be done anywhere, it's easy for her to fit around her busy schedule and even her holidays," he said.
"We train when she's ready. Even if we're on the road and it's 2 am," said her other trainer, Ary Nunez.
Besides her exercise plan, Rihanna has also been advised to eat regularly throughout the day, and she also gets a treat day when she can gorge on whatever she desires.
