´Mal Lawal´ expo
on civilisation | THE Qatar Museums Authority
(QMA) will organise a
unique month-long exhibition
of objects and artefacts
highlighting the artistic and
human sides of the development
of civilisations at
the sprawling Al Riwaq
Gallery located next to the
Museum of Islamic Art
from September 12.
Titled ´Mal Lawal´, the first
edition of the exhibition is a
new initiative of the QMA in
line with Qatar National
Vision 2030 aimed to preserve
art and world heritage
by supporting Qatari and
foreign art collectors as well
as artists, and helping visitors
to learn about the
objects and pieces that exist
within Qatar and which have
historic, cultural, or personal

QU, Kahramaa for R&D | SIEMENS, the global powerhouse
in electronics and
electrical engineering,
signed an agreement with
Qatar University (QU) and
Kahramaa to carry out joint
efforts on researching and
developing energy-efficient
systems and solutions to
support the rapid development
of Qatar´s infrastructure,
on Tuesday.
According to a Siemens
press release, the memorandum
of understanding
(MoU) is a two-year agreement
that will draw on the
key skills and strengths of
each of the parties. As a
leading manufacturer in the
field of electrical equipment
for power generation, transmission
and distribution,
Siemens will cooperate with
QU and Kahramaa on... | | | QICDRC swears in six new judges | SIX eminent judges were
sworn in at the Qatar
International Court and
Dispute Resolution Centre
(QICDRC) on Wednesday.
According to a press
release issued by the centre,
Chelva Rajah of Singapore
was appointed Judge of the
Court with The Rt Hon Sir
Thomas Scott Baker, Sir
Peter Cresswell and Sir
David Edward (all from the
UK), Nisuke Ando of Japan
and Sir Bruce Robertson of
New Zealand appointed as
supplemental Judges. The
Judges will serve the Qatar
International Court, incorporating
the QFC Civil and
Commercial Court.
The new Judges broaden
the diversity of the bench
and bring a wealth of experience
to the Qatar International
Court.
