| | Indian rupee posts biggest daily gain in six weeks | THE Indian rupee posted its
biggest percentage gain against
the dollar in six weeks on Monday
after the country postponed controversial
rules on foreign taxation
by a year, helping soothe worries
about flows.
The rupee extended gains in the
afternoon session after Finance
Minister Pranab Mukherjee told
lawmakers that India will delay
the General Anti-Avoidance Rule
(GAAR) until fiscal 2013-14.
The local currency had already
been propped up in morning trade
by expectations of a more active
central bank, with dealers saying
the Reserve Bank of India had
likely sold dollars soon after trade
opened.

Airbus said on Monday that
Etihad Airways has cancelled a
$2.2 billion order for seven of
its A350-1000s, the latest setback
to the delayed twinengined
long range aircraft.
"I can confirm Etihad has
cancelled seven A350-1000s,"
said an Airbus spokesman,
adding the Abu Dhabi government-
owned airline still had 12
of the aircraft on order.
In January Etihad reduced
firm orders for the A350-1000
from 25 to 19.
In June, Airbus, a unit of
European Aeronautic Defence
& Space Company (EADS),
said it would increase the size
and power of the A350-1000,
delaying the aircraft´s launch to
2017 from 2015.

and is widely expected to
unveil a full-fledged TV
