Casey Stoner won his second
consecutive race of the season
at the Portugal Grand Prix on
Sunday to go top of the standings,
one point ahead of Jorge
Lorenzo.
Stoner rode his Honda
from pole position around
the 4.2-kilometre (2.6-mile)
Estoril circuit in 45 minutes,
37.513 seconds for his 35th
career victory.
After three races, the
Australian pilot has 66
points, while Lorenzo trails
with 65.
"It was a fantastic race.
Despite some trouble with
the chassis we were able to
stay in front," said Stoner,
who had never won in
Portugal.
"I am proud. Any time you
win is a moment to be proud.
Another one to cross off my
list."
