schools in Afghanistan |
REACH Out to Asia (Rota)
has recently inaugurated two
new schools serving 344 primary
and secondary students
in Khost province in
eastern Afghanistan.
With funding support from
Rota, in October 2011, Care
International in Afghanistan
began implementing a threeyear
project that draws on its
extensive experience and lessons
learnt in communitybased
education. The project is
designed to establish and support
community-based education
classes to assist the government
of Afghanistan in
providing quality education
for 3,154 children, 54 percent
of whom are girls, in primary
and lower secondary.
In particular, education services

DPS-MIS won the 5th Qatar
National Debate Championship
for English schools
organised by Qatar Debate
Center recently.
Safa Kashaf from Park
House English School won
the best speaker award. The
tournament held at Qatar
Academy hosted 44 teams
representing 25 schools.

Michael Hitchman, principal
of Qatar Academy Senior
School; and Kelley Bieringer,
head of English Programme,
QatarDebate Center; distributed
trophies and certificates
to the winners.
Qatar Academy won the
