World leaders arrive in Doha

DOHA TURKISH Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his accompanying delegation arrived in Doha on Thursday to take part in the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad XIII), slated to be held from April 21 to 26.

Besides other global leaders and diplomats, Tunisian President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki, President of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou and President of the Comoros Eklik Zanin along with their accompanying delegations also arrived on Friday.

The Turkish prime minister was welcomed upon arrival by the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al Kuwari and Qatar’s Ambassador to Turkey HE Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalil al Abdul Ghani.

The minister of culture, who is also chairman of the Unctad XIII, inaugurated the Global Service Forum on Thursday, which paved the way for the official opening of the prestigious conference on Saturday.
