IQ net profit in Q1 touches QR1.9 billion
DOHA Industries Qatar on Thursday said net profit in the first quarter of 2012 reached QR1.9 billion, while revenues of the group increased 8.9 percent to QR4.4 billion. Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman and MD of IQ, His Excellency Mohammad bin Saleh al Sada said the group has followed-up its record-breaking 2011 performance.
Qatar tops optimism index in M-E, India in Asia
QATAR and Oman have been ranked as the most optimistic nations in the Middle East in a global consumer confidence survey. According to MasterCard Worldwide Index of Consumer Confidence, Qatar and Oman topped the index with a remarkable score (93.6); followed closely by Egypt (88.3), Kuwait (88.3), Saudi Arabia (83.9) and the UAE (82.1).
