Microsoft, Oryx GTL promote women IT studies
MICROSOFT Qatar in partnership with Oryx GTL and the Qatar Independent Technical School (QITS) recently launched a digital literacy programme in order to promote information technology (IT) learning among women in the country, said a Microsoft press release on Wednesday. Through the programme´s digital literacy curriculum, women at the Qudurat Centre, in Al Khor, were trained in basic IT concepts, Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, Windows 7 operating system, as well as courses that gave them a general understanding of computer security and digital privacy, the release said.
