QUWIC launches system to monitor quality of air

THE QU Wireless Innovations Center (QUWIC) officially launched an innovative air quality monitoring system (HAWA´AK) with the commencement of a field trial at Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) in the Education.

´Spiderman´ to climb Torch Tower on April 12
THElegendary Alain Robert, a French skyscraper climber nicknamed ´The Spiderman´, will climb the Torch Doha Hotel Tower for the first time on April 12. Robert is currently preparing for the ascent and will scale Doha´s highest building without a safety rope and harness. As he performs the unique climb of Doha´s iconic 300- metre-tall tower, the Guinness Book of Records representative will be present at the exciting event. Nine hotels to compete in 3rd Mini Beach Olympics
NINE hotels across Qatar will be competing in four sport events as part of the 3rd Inter-Hotel Mini Beach Olympics 2012 which starts on Tuesday. The five-day event aimed at promoting camaraderie through sportsmanship among the hoteliers in the country was inaugurated through a ceremony held at the InterContinental Doha, the year´s Olympics host, on Monday. The participating hotels include Diplomatic Club, Four Seasons, La Cigale, Oryx Rotana, Renaissance, Ritz Carlton, St. Regis, W Hotel and InterContinental Doha. Their representatives will compete in swimming, beach soccer, beach volleyball and 2-km run to be held at InterContinental.
