Mashreq participates in forestation drive

DOHA MASHREQ Qatar, a leading financial institution in the region, took part in the Ministry of Environment and Qatar Green Center’s Forestation Campaign for a greener Qatar.

The initiative involved participation by 25 Mashreq employees in a to plant a variety of saplings at the Al Bayan, Al Makhiya and Al Ahnaf Schools.

By encouraging the cultivation of indigenous flora appropriate to the local environment, the campaign is helping to promote nationwide collaboration across several sectors whilst supporting the wider initiatives of the Ministry of Environment.

Human Resources Manager at Mashreq Qatar Ayesha al Kuwari said, “We are interested in championing green initiatives that will assist Qatar in addressing long-term environmental issues, particularly pollution.

Such socio-environmental initiatives are in line with Mashreq’s corporate social responsibility agenda for 2012, a central pillar in the ongoing engagement of our employees, which will help promote sustainable practices, including optimising the use of energy, water and recycling waste.” Mashreq Qatar has been leading environmental activities aimed at contributing to Qatar’s emergence as a green corporate citizen and to help promote a volunteering culture among its employees.
