Speaking to QNA, the Palestinian minister said that he met with the Minister of State for Internal Affairs HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani during an official visit to Qatar with a Palestinian security delegation recently.

He added that talks during the meeting focused on bilateral relations and ways of developing them. Abu Ali praised the continuous support provided by Qatar on the Palestinian issue.

The Palestinian minister noted that the talks also dealt with the future plans and projects in accordance with the Palestinian vision of the security sector which protects the interests of people and embodies the national aspirations of the Palestinians, whether in the field of infrastructure or training.

The minister landed the Minister of State for Internal Affairs’ understanding and Qatar’s support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), including the security sector.

In response to a question about a Qatari financial support for restructuring of the Palestinian security services, especially as the National Authority is in throes of a severe financial crisis, the Palestinian minister said the Qatari-Palestinian relationship was not confined to only financial support.

“Qatar always offers such support in different sectors, and we have Qatar’s support in the field of infrastructure, equipment and training as well,” he said.
