QA reaffirms commitment to Qatarisation at career fair

TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORK

DOHA QATAR Airways is this week reaffirming its commitment to seeking out talented nationals for the organisation by taking part in the annual Qatar Career Fair.

The airline is working to attract more locals, including Qatari students in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The carrier has numerous vacancies available across the company.

Qatar Airways, a Pearl sponsor, has a stand in Hall 6 at the new Qatar National Convention Centre where the five-day Qatar Career Fair will run until Thursday.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar al Baker has lent his full support to the event by visiting the venue, meeting and discussing job opportunities with potential new recruits.

Airline representatives from various departments met individuals to discuss career and scholarship opportunities with the company, which is going through a phase of continued rapid expansion.

Senior management interviewed prospective candidates reaffirming the carrier’s commitment to hire, develop and prepare Qataris to lead the airline that has grown to be one of the biggest success stories in the aviation industry in a short span of 15 years.

Al Baker said: “The Qatar Career Fair is once again proving to be an ideal platform to reach out to our future employees, providing them with key information about work opportunities with our airline.

“We received fantastic response on the opening days of the career fair and expect an even better turnout from those looking for jobs over the course of the week.

“Just a month ago Qatar Airways announced we will be offering over 100 Qatari students scholarships during the new academic year, which demonstrates the high level of deep commitment we at Qatar Airways have to Qatarisation as part of the National Vision 2030.

“These youngsters will get to work with the highly talented multi-cultural staff at Qatar Airways, which will, in return, provide them with invaluable knowledge and experience.

“We encourage Qatari talent to make use of this opportunity and take pride in working for the national airline and contribute towards its continued success,” added al Baker.
