Stenden students win case championship for third year

DOHA STENDEN University Qatar for the third consecutive year emerged as the champions of the 2012 International Case Competition (ICC) which was held at College of the North Atlantic – Qatar recently.

Stenden University had previously won CNAQ’s GCC Case Competition of 2008 which has made this year’s win their fourth in a row.

A total of 10 teams from Canada, Bahrain and Qatar competed to secure places in the final. This year, two teams represented Stenden University Qatar in the competition – Athena Consultancy and Elite Consultancy. Athena Consultancy’s members were Abdulla al Ghanim, Saima Bukhari, Sajid M Ettol and Samantha Serrao.

Elite Consultancy comprised Al Anood al Thani, Amit Sen, Fathima Kundu Kandan and Mohammed Fayez Nizar.

Stenden’s Athena Consultancy was the only team to win all three rounds and dominated the competition by topping all 10 teams, ensuring their place for the championship session. The business cases chosen for the competition revolved around issues of culture, business politics and strategic management.

In the final, the team impressed both the audience and the judges by demonstrating strong presentation and analytical skills.

The teams were coached by Otmane Sadoki and Sabika Kizilbash. The coaches and President of Stenden University Qatar Wayne Johnson were very proud of the performance and achievements of both teams.
