Stop War Talk
WE are deeply concerned about all the loose talk regarding a possible military attack on Iran because of the growing uncertainty over parts of its nuclear programme. Not only would such an attack be a clear violation of the charter of the United Nations. It could have...
TAME THE GUN LOBBY
THERE is nothing so dangerous as a lobbying organisation that's running out of stuff to lobby about. I am thinking in particular of the National Rifle Association. These people are really in desperate straits. The state legislatures are almost all in session, but some of them ...

Randhir, Rishi Kapoor created nostalgia: Riteish

IANS

RITEISH Deshmukh says he felt overwhelmed to work with veterans like Randhir and Rishi Kapoor, who shared insights about their personal and professional life on and off the sets of Housefull 2. “The experience was great. This is the first time I got an opportunity to work with actors whose films I have grown up watching. So we spoke about how acting has come of age,” the 33-year-old said in an interview.

“There are so many stories, be it Dabbooji (Randhir Kapoor), Chintuji (Rishi Kapoor) or Mithun da (Mithun Chakraborty), they had to share with us.

Off-sets it was nostalgic to know how things were at that time, how Randhir’s father was, his relationship with his father, how he turned to directing...” he added.

Riteish says Randhir, the eldest son of legendary actor Raj Kapoor, also shared some trivia with him.

“Not many people know that Dabbooji debuted as an actor, he directed his own film at the age of 21. He directed his father and his grandfather in the same film called Kal, Aaj aur Kal. People think that Raj Kapoor made that film. So it’s great to know so many trivia,” said Riteish.

In Housefull 2, directed by Sajid Khan, there are a total of 12 actors in key roles. Apart from Rishi, Randhir, Mithun and Riteish, the cast also includes Akshay Kumar, Shreyas Talpade, John Abraham, Boman Irani, Jacqueline Fernandes, Asin Thottumkal, Shazahn Padamsee and Zarine Khan.

The comedy film hits theatres on April 5.
