Airstrikes, clashes claim more than 50 lives in Pakistan
AT least 51 militants and four soldiers have been killed in airstrikes and clashes with security forces in the restive northwest over the past week. On Sunday alone, Pakistani planes bombed a tribal belt bordering Afghanistan, killing 26 militants, a senior paramilitary official said. Separately, at least 25 militants and four soldiers were killed in Bara, in Khyber tribal district.
80,000 euros-worth sculpture unveilded at Ritz Carlton
A LIFE-SIZE camel sculpture worth 80,000 euros by renowned French artist and sculptor Gari was unveiled at The Ritz-Carlton hotel on Sunday. The sculpture, which was adopted by the Spain–based Art Wanson Group, is made of recycled stainless steel. The artwork named ‘Privé de Desert’ is part of the group’s initiative of collecting master pieces from artists from all over the world.
