| | Customs´ role in security highlighted |
THE fourth sub-regional
workshop for customs personnel
in the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC)
countries kicked off here on
Sunday. The two-day workshop´s
main focus is on the
technical aspects of the
´Transfer Regime of the
Chemical Weapons
Convention (CWC).
The workshop is being
organised by the National
Committee for the
Prohibition of Weapons
(NCPW) in cooperation with
the Organisation for the
Prohibition of Chemical
Weapons (OPCW).
The workshop will discuss
several issues related to the
Convention, including an
introduction on OPCW, principles
and procedures governing
transportation of chemicals
and means of identification

HIGH-LEVEL Indian business
delegation from Doha
visited the Indian state of
Bihar recently on the invitation
of Sunil Kumar Pintu,
minister for tourism of Bihar.
The trip was coordinated
by Shakil Ahmed Kakvi,
chairman of the Kainat
Foundation.
The team consisted of MS
Bukhari, Hassan Chougule,
Azim Abbas, Harish Kanjani,
Syed Abdul Hye and Habib
Un Nabi.
The delegation was welcomed
at Patna Airport by
officials of Bihar Tourism, as
well as members of Kainat
Foundation in Bihar.
The team met Minister of
Tourism Sunil Kumar Pintu,
Deputy Chief Minister Sushil
Kumar Modi and Chief
Minister Nitish Kumar and
discussed the areas of possible

the ´2nd spring camp 2012´
under the theme ´For a safer
spring´ at Al Khor corniche
recently.
Different departments
from the Ministry of
Interior such as Civil
Defence, Coast Guard,
Traffic Department,
Permanent Committee for
Drugs and Alcohol Affairs,
Community Policing
Section of North Security
Department and Seashore
Group besides other private
and public institutions took
part in the camp.
The camp was aimed at
creating security awareness
among various segments of
