THE Qatari bourse rallied on Sunday as upbeat global sentiments spilled over. The QE benchmark index rose 79 points to 8,623 points. Gulf International Services surged to a six-week high after proposing a 13 percent cash dividend and bonus shares. The stock jumped 10 percent to its highest since January 4.
20 dead, 28 hurt in Iraq blast
A SUICIDE bomber detonated his car on Sunday as a group of police recruits left their academy in Baghdad, killing 20 people. All the dead were either police officers or recruits. Another 28 recruits and policemen were wounded. The bomber was waiting outside the academy and as the recruits walked to the road, the bomber drove towards them and blew up his car.
