up laboratory at QU |
ASPIRE Academy and Qatar
University (QU) signed an
agreement on Tuesday to set
up a laboratory known as
´Aspire Laboratory´ which
will include an aerodynamic
wind tunnel facility at Qatar
University.
The agreement was signed
by Aspire Academy Director
Ivan Bravo and Qatar
University Vice-President for
Research Dr Hassan al
Derham at a special ceremony
on Tuesday. The technology
is expected to help in the
smooth organisation of the
Fifa 2022 World Cup.
One major feature of the
laboratory will be its ability to
produce and evaluate open
stadium-cooling technologies
which can be used to assess
and improve designs and
products in Qatar, the region

Sada visited QP´s Al Ghazal
Club on Tuesday to watch
the sports activities organised
by the corporation to
mark the country´s first
National Sports Day.
Sada was welcomed by
senior QP officials.
He then toured the facility
to see QP employees and
their families engage in various
sports activities.
The programme was
organised by QP´s
Administration Directorate.
Among the sports activities
held at the Al Ghazal Club
were table tennis, billiards,
baby foot or football, and tennis.
A walking marathon for
men and women was also
held at the club´s football
ground while a ´Fun Day for

Community Development (QF)
hosted fun-filled activities to mark
Qatar´s first National Sports Day
on Tuesday with participants
burning an estimated over one
million calories.
The QF held events at four different
locations with games
designed for all age groups. To
encourage a healthy diet, the
foundation served nutritious
meals to all visitors.
At QF´s Recreation Center, people
took part in exercise and fun
workouts intended to be incorporated
in their daily routines after
National Sports Day. The participants
competed in swimming
races, aerobics, spinning and
Zumba classes as well as cycling
and cricket tournaments.
