QMA unveils efficient e-tendering solution

TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORK

DOHA QATAR Museums Authority (QMA) has recently launched the e-tendering solution which is a new online service that will improve and modernise the tendering process for companies wanting to do business with it in a more transparent and efficient way, said a QMA press release, on Sunday.

This new e-tendering system will save contractors time and effort, reduce operational costs and paper trail and raise the efficiency of QMA operations, the release said.

It will facilitate as well the Tenders Committee review of the technical and financial aspects of the presentations, noting that bidders will be notified electronically about the awarded company upon completion of the evaluation process.

Speaking on the accomplishment, Acting Director of Procurement Reem al Binali said, “QMA will truly benefit from the new e-tendering system which will be highly on par with international standards. This system will be reliable and will lead to a greater integrity in business competitions.” The process of conducting tenders electronically through the e-tendering system will encourage more companies to do business with QMA and increase the fairness in the tendering process, the release added.

A training course was offered last October to more than 300 contractors and companies to familiarise them with the new system and process.

The new service will be accessible through QMA website www.qma.org.qa According to the new system, companies wishing to participate in the e-tendering process should first register online through QMA website so that they can bid on public tenders and be invited to bid on private tenders. Therefore, they will be able to formally submit their applications for bids online and to participate in online discussions.
