RasGas to host sport event for staff, kin

DOHA IN its bid to support Qatar’s first National Sports Day, RasGas will join hands with the Aspire Zone Foundation on February 14 to provide its employees and their families with an exciting and unique fun-filled sporting experience.

The company has nominated 2012 as the ‘Year of Health’ and is rolling-out a campaign to support health awareness initiatives, including sporting activities, for RasGas employees, their families and the wider community.

RasGas Managing Director Hamad Rashid al Mohannadi said: “As part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, RasGas is proud to support Qatar’s first National Sports Day by collaborating with the Aspire Zone Foundation. We are committed to support Qatar and believe that we can make a substantial contribution to the health and wellbeing of our people. Sport and physical activity offers our people the opportunity to participate and put their energy to positive use.” “RasGas’ ‘Year of Health’ CSR campaign is designed to proactively encourage the community to adopt a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Social responsibility is integral to our business and our proactive CSR programme is aligned to the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2011- 16,” he added.

RasGas aims to make a sustainable and positive impact in four spheres — community, education, environment and health (including sports) — that are critical to sustainable development in Qatar.
