TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORK

DOHA VODAFONE has launched the Porsche Design Blackberry P’9981 in Qatar.

The handset features a forged stainless steel frame, hand-wrapped leather back cover, sculpted QWERTY keyboard, and crystal clear touch display.

It also comes with a Porsche Design user-interface and a built-in Wikitude World Browser augmented reality application.

The Porsche Design has a 1.2 GHz processor and Liquid Graphics technology, designed to enable a responsive touch experience with fast and smooth graphics. It also features HD video recording, 24-bit high resolution graphics, advanced sensors for new augmented reality applications, and built-in support for Near Field Communications.

The phone comes with 8GB of on-board memory, expandable to up to 40GB with a microSD card.

“As the ‘home of the smartphone’ in Qatar, we are extremely excited to make one of the most elegant devices available. Not only does the Porsche Design Blackberry P’9981 have a stylish exterior, the handset also features a premium, exclusive PIN that easily identifies the user as having a P’9981 smartphone.

“This is a great combination of design and function that I am sure will appeal to many of our customers,” said Alistair Beak, head of consumer sales at Vodafone Qatar.

The company said customers can experience the P’9981 at its Landmark store where pre-orders will be taken. The P’9981 retails at QR7,200 with a welcome pack, one month of free BlackBerry service, and a Red 200 plan.
