ISESCO’s top official hails Qatar’s support

DOHA DIRECTOR-GENERAL of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri has lauded Qatar’s support for the organisation’s efforts in spreading Islamic culture and Arabic language.

Dr Altwaijri said that Qatar as a founding member of the ISESCO fulfills its obligations to the organisation regularly and actively participates in the implementation of action plans adopted by the ISESCO General Conference every three years.

The ISESCO director-general highlighted Qatar’s continuous support for the programmes and activities of the organisation, including the programme for teaching the Arabic language and Islamic culture.

Dr. Altwaijri pointed out that there was significant cooperation between the ISESCO and the Qatar Foundation.

The Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, he said, is the communication point between the ISESCO and the Qatari government.

The ISESCO director-general also highlighted Qatar’s political and diplomatic role which serves the objectives of Arab and Islamic joint work, both in the framework of the Arab League, and on the level of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
