| | QU explains scholarships to students | DOHA QATAR University (QU) held its first annual scholarship students gathering in the conference hall of the university's Administration Building on Monday.
The meeting was intended to give current students of the university general information on scholarships available through the institution for Qatari nationals.
Present at the event was Qatar University President Prof Sheikha al Misnad, as well as vice-presidents and several students aspiring for the scholarships.
The QU president opened the event with a short speech.
"I am proud and happy to have so many of Qatar University graduates studying at some of the best universities in the world. I am looking forward to their future contributions", she said.
QU Scholarships Director Cesar Wazen was also present on the occasion.
He pointed out that this was one of a series of events aimed at providing information to current students of the university about the scholarship programmes available through Qatar University.
Cezar introduced five of the top scholarship students.
"This is the time for the scholars to shine," he said.
... | | | RasGas hosts Stanford business school team | DOHA A DELEGATION from the Stanford Graduate School of Business from the US recently visited RasGas Company Limited headquarters.
They were on an educational visit aimed at gaining a greater knowledge and understanding of Qatar's economy, history and culture as part of their curriculum to develop global management skills.
A statement issued by RasGas said the company "is always happy to host such visits and educational briefings as they spread knowledge and information to the greater society.
The Stanford Graduate School of Business is a wellknown and respected graduate school, with more than 26,000 living alumni.
The company said it was a pleasure to welcome a group of students eager to learn about RasGas and its success.
The students also visited other institutions in the country and went to Saudi Arabia to visit governmental offices and private organisations.
In attendance at the meeting from RasGas was Nafez Bseiso, Venture Group manager, who delivered a speech and presentation outlining the economic growth of RasGas and the LNG industry, followed by a more technical presentation by Ahmad al Mohannadi, manager operations for technical engineering.
