RasGas hosts Stanford business school team

TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORK

DOHA A DELEGATION from the Stanford Graduate School of Business from the US recently visited RasGas Company Limited headquarters.

They were on an educational visit aimed at gaining a greater knowledge and understanding of Qatar’s economy, history and culture as part of their curriculum to develop global management skills.

A statement issued by RasGas said the company “is always happy to host such visits and educational briefings as they spread knowledge and information to the greater society.

The Stanford Graduate School of Business is a wellknown and respected graduate school, with more than 26,000 living alumni.

The company said it was a pleasure to welcome a group of students eager to learn about RasGas and its success.

The students also visited other institutions in the country and went to Saudi Arabia to visit governmental offices and private organisations.

In attendance at the meeting from RasGas was Nafez Bseiso, Venture Group manager, who delivered a speech and presentation outlining the economic growth of RasGas and the LNG industry, followed by a more technical presentation by Ahmad al Mohannadi, manager operations for technical engineering.

Nafez said, “RasGas is proud of its business success on an international level, and happy to be able to provide the students with an overview of the oil and gas industry.

Education and knowledge are crucial to sustainability, key objectives of RasGas, and our success is also part owned by our Corporate Social Responsibility. Involving communities is part of our philosophy and work ethics.” Composed of 34 students and a faculty advisor along with his wife, the delegation was led by Prof Mark Wolfson, and four of the second year students, Fawaz al Rajhi, Rayan al Rasheed, Betsy Bradford and Christian Jensen.

“RasGas places a high level of importance on education and national development, and as a committed corporate citizen, we support a wide range of educational establishments, and helping students learn about the oil and gas industry is one of them,” the company’s statement said.

RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is the operator of all RasGas projects and is owned by Qatar Petroleum and an affiliate of ExxonMobil RasGas Inc.

RasGas operates production facilities to treat, liquefy and supply LNG to countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Based in Ras Laffan, Qatar, RasGas currently has seven LNG trains in operation with a total production capacity of around 37 million tonnes of LNG per year.
